About The CoCo Hut

This site is about the TRS-80 and Tandy Color Computer, AKA The CoCo.  I started this site to catalog my collection of
CoCo stuff when folks started asking about some of the things I had acquired on eBay.  Then I added a Price Guide and
a little monthly round up of CoCo collecting news called
The CoCo Collector.  At the time, no one was really doing the
CoCo as a collectible item.  Then things just kind of got out of hand from there. :)

As the CoCo sucked me back in, the site has expanded.  There's a ton of work left to do, including updating the CoCo
Goodness section that catalogs the collection.  That whole project kind of gets sidelined repeatedly.  But I'm in no rush.
As I play with stuff, I categlog it.

What else is here?

In
The CoCo Hut blog I keep a running commentary of my CoCo adventures.  I post about interesting sites, CoCo news,
thoughts on games I'm playing, and my adventures with upgrading and hardware modification, called Pimp My CoCo.
Everything is tagged, so you can browse through just the stuff you like.

The Hut Chatter is a message board for CoCoists.  Did the CoCo world really need another message board?  Well,
maybe.  Maybe not.  But I wanted a place where some of us folks that aren't quite as experienced (yet) could create
message boards that are of interest to us.  So you'll find a board on collecting CoCos, an OS-9 forum oriented primarily
to the new user, and a whole board exclusively for mod'ing and repacking your CoCo.  Planned expansions, eventually,
include a Color BASIC forum, a forum about interfacing the CoCo, and anything else we can come up with that there
appears to be an interest in and isn't really addressed elsewhere on the Net.  Drop by and join in!

Shop CoCo is a little store for CoCo related items like T-Shirts, coffee mugs, books, and other fun stuff.  All proceeds go
to support the CoCo Hut. :)  Eventually it would be fun to sell software and hardware from here.

Occasionally I bang out some bit of BASIC code that isn't completely worthless.  When that happens (rarely) I post it to
the
CoCo Software section.  I also post anything an original CoCo author sends for posting.  If you're interested in
having your Color Computer software downloadable from the Hut, just
drop it this way.  Happy to do it!

CoCo Articles is the place where I pile CoCo information and other articles I've written about the CoCo.  Plenty of stuff in
the works for this section.  Someday I might actually finish some of it, too!

CoCo IRC Chat - COMING SOON!

[Side Note: Because I get asked this a lot:  Why green on green?  It's pleasant, for one.  Easy on the eyes, that it is.  It's
also the color I associate mostly with the Color Computer, as do most folks, I suspect.  Granted, this isn't entirely CoCo
Green, but it's suppose to be reminiscent of the whole CoCo experience.  Whether it works or not is another matter. :)

The CoCo Hut is a little irreverent sometimes but always suppose to be fun.  My philosophy is: There's NOTHING bad
about the Color Computer.  It's all Good Stuff.  If there's something bad about a CoCo item, I'll usually try to find
something good about it.  The Hut is suppose to be a happy place, where CoCo-Man is always smiling "Hi!" and
everything is green.

If you love CoCos, I hope you'll find something here you'll like.
